Colour Experiment #2
Jay Mills, colour experiment #2, 2015, acrylic plastic on board, 120cm x 80cm
My intentions with this work is to look into relationships with
colours and how they communicate with each other. The
materials I used for this work is acrylic plastic boards, the reason for this
is because I wanted to limit my materials and use materials that have been
created by modern day technology. This has enabled me to display colour in a
different way and instead of the colour being flat and dull, the colours in
the piece are more vibrant, sharp, un-natural colours. This use of presentation was adopted by my research into David Batchelor work which communicates how we experience colour within a modern environment and its apparent contrast from natural colour found in rural environments.
