Memory wheel
Jay Mills, Memory Wheel, 2014, Plaster and aluminium wire, 35 x 31 cm
This sculpture created using a collaboration of materials (plaster and aluminium wire) and was largely influenced by artist Barbara Hepworth and contemporary artist Ebitenyefa Baralaye. The idea behind my final piece was of a memory of my bicycle being stolen , I wanted to portray this by creating a bicycle wheel leaving a large portion of the wheel missing, just as it resembled a large portion of my life.
Equipment/Materials used:
-Different sized chisels
-Surforms
-Knifes
-Mallet
-Sandpaper
