Colour perception experiment

Jay Mills, Colour perception experiment, 2016, digital print on paper,  29.7cm x 42cm

To create this piece of work I have been looking into the perception of line and how this can have heightened effects upon the viewer by creating depth perception. Combining this with the flat, pure saturated colours that I have used in previous works. The overall combination of the two has enabled me to experiment with  optical phenomena, creating a continuous shift in depth within my paintings. The next step I am planning on taking with the work is to begin to look at the effects of these with the use of artificial lighting to create an even heightened sensory experience upon the viewer.
